Because watching the footage served as a reflection on how much and how little things and people (my self included) can change in 10 years. I saw, cousins that have grown up, relationships that have grown stronger, and some that have drifted apart, I saw people who are no longer with us, friendships that have become family and family who made me who I am today.
I guess one never really understands the importance of ones youth, until one day you reflect back on your life 10 years ago, or maybe 15 or 20 or however many years later and you find yourself regretting the things you didn’t do more than the crazy things you did, or how much possibility laid before you, that you took for granted, wishing you had taken more risks and chosen the road less taken more often than staying on the safe path. Realising that you should have worried less about what people thought and stood your ground and spoken up more. | But then again, if I were to look back 10 years from now, I would still have regrets. It’s just one of those things in life we can't really avoid and so we should rather learn to embrace our regrets and learn from them. Since we can’t go back and change the past, we can change our future and make sure that in the next 10 years we don’t have the same regrets. The best way for us to feel like we have progressed I believe is simply by not having the same regrets 10 years later and improving on those for the next 10 years after. |
