I don’t know how to describe Ha Long Bay, I can say it’s beautiful and breath taking but those would be understatements, even some of the pictures and videos that I took does not do this place justice. For me it was like being in some sort of mythical paradise land, the kind you only get to see in movies, It was hard to believe that I was actually there, sailing towards, among and between these islets, for the most part it felt like a dream, on the boat ride back, I put my camera away, I went out front and sat at the very front of the boat and just watched as it sailed through the water, taking in the surroundings still finding it hard to believe, that I am actually there.
For me it was that moment when you just forget everything else, all fears and doubts, all expectations and disappointments, even my camera and life just slows down while you take a break from the rat race to just stop and admire the view. It's like that beautiful slow motion scene from the movies, when everything comes into perspective.
I will never forget this place one because of the amazing scenery, and breath taking boat ride across, but also for the adventure we had getting there, from a bumpy bus ride, to getting onto a boat and stopping to see some random caves, that we were not intending to see, to having to change boats, by throwing our luggage over from one boat to the other and then literally jumping from one boat to the other, to arriving at the harbor and waiting (with a whole bunch of other backpackers) for over an hour may be even 2 hours for a bus to come and pick us up to take us to the actual city center. It truly was an adventure trip and quite an experience that I’m glad I had.
